Amos Mändlis short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Luigi Veterini to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 26th minute, Roby Sommerhalder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ludovic Hunkeler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute, Desiderius Blättler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 36th minute, Amos Mändli ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luigi Veterini was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. A collision led to FC AARAU getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Omer Lengen hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Dominique Joho managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC AARAU's supporters rose to their feet, but Dominique Joho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luigi Veterini breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Amos Mändli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Adrien Grossmann made the kick off in the second half. Luigi Veterini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Omer Lengen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC AARAU's supporters rose to their feet, but Omer Lengen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luigi Veterini breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. But to his dismay, Roby Sommerhalder quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Luigi Veterini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dominique Joho in the 74th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dominique Joho in the 75th minute of play forced Kloten's goalkeeper Luigi Veterini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 83 minutes of play, FC AARAU's Amos Mändli made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luigi Veterini was left in no man's land by his defense there!
