The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lax's Bernardo Gut got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hennes Lamontagne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florin Walz having to interfere. In the 11th minute, Juanito Iosif hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Club 99's zone, Bernardo Gut stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florin Walz came out of the goal and Bernardo Gut tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bernardo Gut in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Florin Walz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Mike Frankfurter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matteo Mahle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bernardo Gut to strike the kick off in the second half. Christopher Kaelin hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Lax's Bernardo Gut slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Florin Walz. That made the score 0-4 after 88 minutes of play. Lax's Dominique Kyd played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matteo Mahle in the 94th minute of play. Lax's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
