Matthew Pierucci struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Ian Herger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Schlieren. In the 7th minute Matthew Pierucci shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ian Herger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Timofej Lanbrigger scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ian Herger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Luca Hunkeler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Schlieren's Fabrice Hüsler got a free kick in the 14th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Matthew Pierucci notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Novazzano SC's Ian Herger. Ian Herger was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gillian Mathieu hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. 1-2 became the score in the 31st minute when Mauritz Hoch elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 34th minute, Timofej Lanbrigger left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Schlieren fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timofej Lanbrigger in the 38th minute of play forced Novazzano SC's goalkeeper Ian Herger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Matthew Pierucci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Timofej Lanbrigger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Timofej Lanbrigger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Matthew Pierucci stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Luca Hunkeler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ischy Brand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Hunkeler in the 57th minute of the match. Timofej Lanbrigger who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 60thth minute tested the skills of Ian Herger when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 62 minutes, Servatius Schmidli mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Schlieren and the Novazzano SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Servatius Schmidli kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. 64 minutes into the game, Claus Kuhn was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Novazzano SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Schlieren the free kick. A collision led to Novazzano SC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Claus Kuhn hit a great ball. Luca Hunkeler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Matthew Pierucci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matthew Pierucci in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ian Herger saved Novazzano SC from getting behind. In the 80th minute, Mauritz Hoch ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ischy Brand was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. In the 83rd minute, Matthew Pierucci got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 85th minute, Timofej Lanbrigger got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Timofej Lanbrigger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matthew Pierucci fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ian Herger having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Matthew Pierucci managed to get in a good position for a shot. Schlieren's supporters rose to their feet, but Matthew Pierucci was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ian Herger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Schlieren's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
