Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Salomone Uttiger got the match started through his kick off. 5 minutes into the match, Monte's goal looked a bit too open when Klemens Wüst came free, but Hans-Ruedi Winkel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hans-Ruedi Winkel made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Garin Wider sent off a good shot on target. After 12 played minutes Monte got a freekick which was hit by Pierre Nietlispach. Garin Wider could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Hans-Ruedi Winkel made a huge save. If Klemens Wüst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 16th minute, Garin Wider got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Garin Wider fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hans-Ruedi Winkel having to interfere. Salomone Uttiger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Benjamin Pellerucci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Garin Wider fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hans-Ruedi Winkel having to interfere. The supporters of Bex booed when Monte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jim Howald didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute Klemens Wüst shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans-Ruedi Winkel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Oliviero Trommler fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bex's protests and gave Oliviero Trommler a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Bex's Oliviero Trommler got a free kick in the 40th minute. Nero Loewe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute, one of Monte:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Monte. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Klemens Wüst was the one to do the kick off. Garin Wider fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hans-Ruedi Winkel having to interfere. Monte's Hans-Ruedi Winkel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Klemens Wüst in the 60th minute of play. Klemens Wüst received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Hans-Ruedi Winkel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ferrante Badurina hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Nero Loewe's late challenge caught a Bex's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nero Loewe helped the player get up and apologised. In the 89th minute, Nero Loewe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Klemens Wüst managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bex's supporters rose to their feet, but Klemens Wüst was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hans-Ruedi Winkel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee ended the match the Bex players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
