Pierre Kuster came free with the goalkeeper in the 4th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dick Fuchs could save by the left post. If Matthias Leuthard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to FK Republika Srpska getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Pierre Kuster hit a great ball. Matthias Leuthard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Etienne Mauer having to interfere. In the 22ndth minute of the game Spencer Baader who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FK Republika Srpska's Etienne Mauer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Matthias Leuthard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Uli Maina kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Matthias Leuthard got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 31 minutes, Matthias Leuthard managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Etoile-Laconnex's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matthias Leuthard was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Etoile-Laconnex's Matthias Leuthard in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FK Republika Srpska's goalie prevented a goal. Etienne Mauer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Etoile-Laconnex. Reto Faerber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Matthias Leuthard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Etienne Mauer having to interfere. After the first half Etoile-Laconnex were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gregor Kernen was the one to do the kick off. In the 55thth minute of the game Matthias Leuthard who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FK Republika Srpska's Etienne Mauer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Matthias Leuthard took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Etienne Mauer. Etienne Mauer dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Spencer Baader could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Etienne Mauer made a huge save. In the 67thth minute of the game Matthias Leuthard who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FK Republika Srpska's Etienne Mauer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Etienne Mauer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Matthias Leuthard's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Christian Gersten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Etienne Mauer having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 75th minute by Lew Niederberger got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 76th match minute, FK Republika Srpska was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Uli Maina to maneuver through the defense. In the 77th minute, Spencer Baader hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Etienne Mauer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Gersten, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Matthias Leuthard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Etienne Mauer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Uli Maina left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FK Republika Srpska fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Matthias Leuthard had several of the FK Republika Srpska's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 96 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-3 score and a disappointed Etienne Mauer as he didn't even see the shot coming. The FK Republika Srpska fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Etoile-Laconnex were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
