Piedro Schultheiss fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Etienne Mauer having to interfere. Nicola Hegner kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. After having played for 13 minutes, Pierre Kuster managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FK Republika Srpska's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pierre Kuster was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 15 minutes into the match, FK Republika Srpska's goal looked a bit too open when Piedro Schultheiss came free, but Etienne Mauer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes into the game, FK Republika Srpska's Gregor Kernen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabien Geiger made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After a rather tough play, FK Republika Srpska's Gregor Kernen got a free kick in the 20th minute. After 28 minutes, Piedro Schultheiss made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. FK Republika Srpska's Etienne Mauer tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Gregor Kernen received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Fabien Geiger came out and tried to block the shot, but Gregor Kernen slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 34th minute. Pierre Kuster might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabien Geiger. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pierre Kuster ran back to his position shaking his head. Gregor Kernen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Fabien Geiger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabien Geiger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gregor Kernen in the 44th minute of play. The supporters of FK Republika Srpska booed when KS Pionki was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paddy Wyder didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, FK Republika Srpska's Daniele Parizeau tried to score from far away in the 47th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Piedro Schultheiss was the one to do the kick off. Etienne Mauer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Piedro Schultheiss in the 52nd minute of the match. If Gregor Kernen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the game, FK Republika Srpska's Gregor Kernen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabien Geiger made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. After a rather tough play, FK Republika Srpska's Uli Maina got a free kick in the 61st minute. Fabien Geiger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pierre Kuster in the 90th minute of play. When Pierre Kuster came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the FK Republika Srpska fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pierre Kuster couldn't finish the play. In the 95th match minute, FK Republika Srpska was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Uli Maina to maneuver through the defense.
