Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Kian Korner started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 3rd minute, Motto's Joel Schläpfer dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. The supporters of Man city booed when Motto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stefano Acklin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Don Caron's late challenge caught a Man city's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Don Caron helped the player get up and apologised. Don Caron hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. If Kian Korner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frasier Sauerberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Man city's Remo Helfenstein proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Man city from getting a goal against them. Remo Helfenstein made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Derek Sanger sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Man city's Frasier Sauerberg got a free kick in the 26th minute. 27 minutes into the match, Man city's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Schläpfer came free, but Remo Helfenstein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kian Korner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samir Iten having to interfere. Daniel Dali did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Remo Helfenstein 35 minutes into the match. After 38 played minutes Motto got a freekick which was hit by Anton Restle. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

After 51 played minutes Man city got a freekick which was hit by Frasier Sauerberg. 56 minutes into the match, Man city's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Schläpfer came free, but Remo Helfenstein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Dali took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Remo Helfenstein. Remo Helfenstein dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Remo Helfenstein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Derek Sanger in the 60th minute of play. Kian Korner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 67 played minutes Man city got a freekick which was hit by Frasier Sauerberg. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Dali in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Remo Helfenstein saved Man city from getting behind. Man city's Remo Helfenstein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Dali in the 80th minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 82 minutes into the game, when Marc Peavler put in a rough tackle. In the 81st minute, one of Man city:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Man city. In the 84th minute there was a penalty for Motto. Beniamino Kohler stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Remo Helfenstein. 5-0. Remo Helfenstein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Don Caron in the 87th minute of the match. In the 89th minute Daniel Dali shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remo Helfenstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Remo Helfenstein took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Dali, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Remo Helfenstein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Schläpfer in the 93rd minute of play. In the 93rd match minute, Man city was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramon Meister to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th minute of the match Beniamino Kohler sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Remo Helfenstein skillfully saved the ball. Man city's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
