When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Daniel Dali sped through Fussball Club Luzern's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Raul Walliser. Don Caron kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the match, Fussball Club Luzern's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Schläpfer came free, but Raul Walliser reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Schläpfer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Raul Walliser tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd match minute, Fussball Club Luzern was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedict Lustenberger to maneuver through the defense. 31 minutes into the match, Leonard Karlen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Samir Iten. Motto's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leonard Karlen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Daniel Dali fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raul Walliser having to interfere. If Joel Schläpfer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonard Karlen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Schläpfer in the 44th minute of play forced Fussball Club Luzern's goalkeeper Raul Walliser to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Schläpfer to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Fussball Club Luzern's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Schläpfer came free, but Raul Walliser reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Schläpfer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Samir Iten dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. When Daniel Dali came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Motto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Dali couldn't finish the play. In the 66th minute, Benedict Lustenberger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Fussball Club Luzern's zone, Joel Schläpfer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raul Walliser came out of the goal and Joel Schläpfer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leonard Karlen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Samir Iten read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. In the 72nd minute, Motto's Joel Schläpfer ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Raul Walliser. Raul Walliser yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. 78 minutes into the match, Fussball Club Luzern's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Schläpfer came free, but Raul Walliser reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Schläpfer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 92nd match minute, Fussball Club Luzern was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedict Lustenberger to maneuver through the defense. Motto's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
