The crowd rose to their feet as Joachim Wetter kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Leopold Berthelette. That made the score 1-0 in the 16 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Plasselb's Severin Schifferle got a free kick in the 20th minute. Plasselb's Ingo Zwahlen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giacomo Strebel in the 22nd minute of play. A collision led to FCL getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Mauritz Ammon hit a great ball. Forrest Brand struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Leopold Berthelette didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Plasselb. If Placido Accola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nigel Delfs kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Placido Accola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Ingo Zwahlen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Matt Alessandro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Placido Accola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ingo Zwahlen having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Placido Accola in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ingo Zwahlen saved Plasselb from getting behind. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Placido Accola was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Severin Schifferle was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Plasselb's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FCL the free kick. In the 52nd minute, Severin Schifferle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 58 played minutes FCL got a freekick which was hit by Mauritz Ammon. Garin Miani kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. 61 minutes into the match, Plasselb's Huber Rastgeber broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The supporters of FCL booed when Plasselb was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicola Büto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leopold Berthelette took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joachim Wetter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Forrest Brand hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. In the 83rd match minute, FCL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jon Spillmann to maneuver through the defense. Placido Accola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ingo Zwahlen having to interfere. Ingo Zwahlen made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Matt Alessandro sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Plasselb had won after a very even match.
