The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 10 played minutes Slavia Kreuzlingen got a freekick which was hit by Ignazio Haag. Ermanno Stutz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabrice Lüpold, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ray Ebersbach fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tristan Blaser having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Fabrice Lüpold managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chäs FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabrice Lüpold was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ermanno Stutz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Theo Petermann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Theo Petermann hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute, Bengt Gour hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ray Ebersbach recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 54th minute, Theo Petermann made a precise shot to the right of Ermanno Stutz. Slavia Kreuzlingen's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Bengt Gour was shown his second yellow card after 59 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Chäs FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 59th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Slavia Kreuzlingen a penalty, 62 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Emanuele Huber, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Chäs FC's Tristan Blaser. 1-2. Fabrice Lüpold received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Ermanno Stutz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Denis Brandini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chäs FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Denis Brandini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ermanno Stutz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 69 played minutes Slavia Kreuzlingen got a freekick which was hit by Adalbero Belliger. Slavia Kreuzlingen's defense didn't have a chance, in the 71st minute, when Fabrice Lüpold scored to the left of an out of position Ermanno Stutz, making the score, 1-3. 75 minutes into the match, Slavia Kreuzlingen's goal looked a bit too open when Fabrice Lüpold came free, but Ermanno Stutz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ermanno Stutz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabrice Lüpold, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Theo Petermann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gerard Dubs during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chäs FC's goalkeeper Tristan Blaser, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Fabrice Lüpold had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Slavia Kreuzlingen's Ermanno Stutz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Slavia Kreuzlingen from getting a goal against them. If Fabrice Lüpold had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ray Ebersbach in the 100th minute of play forced Chäs FC's goalkeeper Tristan Blaser to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chäs FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
