Spectators: 7706 (Terracing: 5781, Seating: 1772, VIP seats: 153) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Lorenzo Hitz started the match with the kick off. After 3 minutes, Lorenzo Hitz made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Rigor Mortis's Alphonse Enzmann tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Bruno Capoccitti's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Marcel Hirter firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 9th minute, Rigor Mortis's Rocky Schaer dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Bruno Capoccitti struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Marcel Hirter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rigor Mortis. In the 16th minute, Lorenzo Hitz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rigor Mortis's Rocky Schaer got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 26 minutes, Joe Megnet mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rigor Mortis and the Valens players grew even worse after the yellow card. Valens's Brian Ciprella couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 27th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Rigor Mortis. After a rather tough play, Valens's Olaf Buser got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Marcel Hirter came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Rigor Mortis's Bruno Capoccitti. But to his dismay, Bruno Capoccitti quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in Rigor Mortis's zone, Wilbur Hänggi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alphonse Enzmann came out of the goal and Wilbur Hänggi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd minute, Lorenzo Hitz made a precise shot to the right of Alphonse Enzmann. Rigor Mortis's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Rocky Schaer might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcel Hirter. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rocky Schaer ran back to his position shaking his head. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rocky Schaer to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lorenzo Hitz in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alphonse Enzmann prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alphonse Enzmann stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lorenzo Hitz's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. Lorenzo Hitz might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alphonse Enzmann. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lorenzo Hitz ran back to his position shaking his head. Bruno Capoccitti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Marcel Hirter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcel Hirter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rocky Schaer, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Rigor Mortis's goal looked a bit too open when Lorenzo Hitz came free, but Alphonse Enzmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilbur Hänggi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alphonse Enzmann came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Valens's Wilbur Hänggi. But to his dismay, Wilbur Hänggi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Rocky Schaer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Marcel Hirter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Lorenzo Hitz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alphonse Enzmann was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. With his leg Alphonse Enzmann managed to avoid a goal in the 81stth minute, when Valens's Wilbur Hänggi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 85th minute, Valens's Lorenzo Hitz dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-4. When Bengt Reinhard fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rigor Mortis's protests and gave Bengt Reinhard a yellow card for diving instead. 90 minutes into the game, one of Rigor Mortis:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Lorenzo Hitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valens's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
