An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrianus Caniglia in the 5th minute of play forced Grodei SC's goalkeeper Jarno Mäder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Donald Aebi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adrianus Caniglia got in the 18th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Jarno Mäder handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Adrianus Caniglia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Jarno Mäder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 22 minutes, Adrianus Caniglia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eggenschwand's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adrianus Caniglia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Eggenschwand's Adrianus Caniglia slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jarno Mäder. That made the score 1-0 after 24 minutes of play. After 30 played minutes, Grodei SC's Sylvain Rohrer shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ronny Domini came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Grodei SC reached it. Adrianus Caniglia struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Jarno Mäder didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Eggenschwand. If Adrianus Caniglia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adrianus Caniglia made a kick off. Phil Margùerat kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. If Adrianus Caniglia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 56 played minutes Grodei SC got a freekick which was hit by Augustin Estermann. If René Conte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Josef Bucciarelli struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Jarno Mäder didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Eggenschwand. The audience was convinced that Josef Bucciarelli's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jarno Mäder was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Grodei SC's Jarno Mäder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josef Bucciarelli in the 70th minute of play. In the 72nd minute Donald Aebi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronny Domini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 74th minute, René Conte got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 75 minutes into the game, Arnold Dafond was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Eggenschwand's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grodei SC the free kick. In the 82nd minute, Donald Aebi reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ronny Domini. The goal made the score 1-1. Eggenschwand's Ronny Domini proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Eggenschwand from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adrianus Caniglia in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jarno Mäder prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Josef Bucciarelli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 90 minutes into the match, Josef Bucciarelli notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Grodei SC's Jarno Mäder. Jarno Mäder was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
