Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the match, Ocourt HC's goal looked a bit too open when Salomo Pelchat came free, but Juerg Zarrella reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arrigo Häfeli in the 5th minute of play forced Princeton University's goalkeeper Markus DeGrasse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Neron Sperisen was extremely unlucky when he, in the 8th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Olympio Charpie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Neron Sperisen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Salomo Pelchat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 21 minutes into the match, Princeton University's goal looked a bit too open when Arrigo Häfeli came free, but Markus DeGrasse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Markus DeGrasse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olympio Charpie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 31 played minutes Ocourt HC got a freekick which was hit by Thommy Mawel. Ocourt HC's attack was well implemented in the 34th minute, but when Arrigo Häfeli was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ralf Rohrer during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Ocourt HC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Neron Sperisen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Markus DeGrasse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arrigo Häfeli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Markus DeGrasse stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Neron Sperisen's shot from short distance in the 96th minute.
