The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claude Racine in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julien Zwinggi saved Roncapiano HC from getting behind. Julien Zwinggi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claude Racine in the 22nd minute of play. Jonas Margùerat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chuck Moschen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cyrill Sehringer went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Matélon's goalkeeper Chuck Moschen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 38 minutes into the match, Roncapiano HC's goal looked a bit too open when Jonas Margùerat came free, but Julien Zwinggi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Claude Racine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Claude Racine was the one to do the kick off. Claude Racine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julien Zwinggi having to interfere. When Matélon's Claude Racine in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When Nico Gygax fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Matélon's protests and gave Nico Gygax a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Matélon getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Nico Gygax hit a great ball. After 90 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Matélon! In the 92nd minute there was a penalty for Roncapiano HC. Nero Belliger stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Chuck Moschen. 2-1. Jonas Margùerat blasted a shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julien Zwinggi having to make a save. Matélon were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
