In the 15th minute, Salomon Mahle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Greg Scilacci received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Thierry Pauli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of FC Portugals Glory booed when Anata wa Utsukusi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrick Fuchs didn't get a good kick on the ball. Georges Briard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Anata wa Utsukusi's Miroslav Peyer got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 45 played minutes Georges Briard rounded Anata wa Utsukusi's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

FC Portugals Glory's Greg Scilacci got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 58th minute, Fréderic Bruder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 59 minutes into the match, FC Portugals Glory's goalkeeper Francisco Buccino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Salomon Mahle. The shot was stopped by Francisco Buccino but with some difficulty. Thierry Pauli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Georges Briard, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. The corner ended in Ceddric Widmer almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Anata wa Utsukusi's Thierry Pauli did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Greg Scilacci in the 88th minute of play forced Anata wa Utsukusi's goalkeeper Thierry Pauli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Miroslav Peyer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Francisco Buccino was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. 93 minutes into the match, FC Portugals Glory's goalkeeper Francisco Buccino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Salomon Mahle.
