Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Mario Hulliger kicked off to start the match. Mario Hulliger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 5 minutes into the game, Quirin Rösli was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Erde's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Phoenix the free kick. Erde's Quirin Rösli got his second yellow card of the match in the 6th minute. The referee ordered Quirin Rösli off the ground. Quirin Rösli hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Graham Schaer struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Quint Sanger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Phoenix. Morten Sturzenegger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marin Keller having to interfere. Quint Sanger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Graham Schaer in the 18th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, Graham Schaer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Olivier Scenna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Phoenix's supporters rose to their feet, but Olivier Scenna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Quint Sanger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mario Hulliger might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Quint Sanger. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mario Hulliger ran back to his position shaking his head. Morten Sturzenegger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Morten Sturzenegger stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marin Keller showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Morten Sturzenegger, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Mario Hulliger hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Morten Sturzenegger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Marin Keller tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Phoenix defense, Morten Sturzenegger kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marin Keller. The Phoenix fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marin Keller should have stopped the shot. Kurt Bargherr kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Graham Schaer charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Graham Schaer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Erde booed when Phoenix was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Graham Schaer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Quint Sanger made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Olivier Scenna sent off a good shot on target. In the 78th match minute, Erde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerard Spillmann to maneuver through the defense. Morten Sturzenegger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute Morten Sturzenegger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marin Keller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Morten Sturzenegger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erde were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Phoenix for a fine match.
