Spectators: 6772 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1772, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Albin Dolder started the match with the kick off. Giorgio Rothenberger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacky Ineichen in the 4th minute of the match. When Ischy Kirchner fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Scherliau's protests and gave Ischy Kirchner a yellow card for diving instead. In the 9th match minute, Scherliau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ischy Kirchner to maneuver through the defense. In the 15th minute Albin Dolder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitus Geuken saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Marvin Wyss had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the game, Albin Dolder recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vitus Geuken. Albin Dolder showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. When Albin Dolder came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Scherliau fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albin Dolder couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

54 minutes into the match, Scherliau's Marvin Wyss sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vitus Geuken narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 56 minutes into the match, Albin Dolder notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of SANTA CRUZ's Vitus Geuken. Vitus Geuken was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Scherliau booed when SANTA CRUZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Udo Cathomas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Marvin Wyss managed to get in a good position for a shot. Scherliau's supporters rose to their feet, but Marvin Wyss was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vitus Geuken breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in SANTA CRUZ fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 76th minute. Penalty! Palmiro Knechtli shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. 83 minutes had been played when some careless play by SANTA CRUZ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Palmiro Knechtli was slow to take the kick. During this time Scherliau's players had a chance to rest. Scherliau's Palmiro Knechtli was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Vitus Geuken in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The attack was good, but when Albin Dolder in the 83rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 96 minutes into the match, SANTA CRUZ's goal looked a bit too open when Albin Dolder came free, but Vitus Geuken reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to SANTA CRUZ getting a freekick after 101 minutes play. Jacky Ineichen hit a great ball. Scherliau's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
