Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Berthold Hirter started the match with the kick off. Vitus Geuken made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Hugo Renkewitz sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of SANTA CRUZ booed when Villigen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Renkewitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pepito Koenig hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Boris Lepre managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villigen's supporters rose to their feet, but Boris Lepre was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vitus Geuken breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 12 minutes into the match, Hamilton Martinelli had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vitus Geuken. SANTA CRUZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hamilton Martinelli was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Villigen's Gereon Ramseier slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vitus Geuken. That made the score 2-0 after 16 minutes of play. Gereon Ramseier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 20 played minutes Villigen got a freekick which was hit by Hamilton Martinelli. In the 25th minute, Hamilton Martinelli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With an all-out effort, Villigen's Vitus Geuken threw himself towards the right post 30 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gereon Ramseier, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Gereon Ramseier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Vitus Geuken tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vitus Geuken took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lou Metzger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hamilton Martinellis short, quick shot in the 40thth minute got Vitus Geuken to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 43rd minute Gereon Ramseier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitus Geuken saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gereon Ramseier to strike the kick off in the second half. Jacky Ineichen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hugh Keiser made an important save on a dangerous shot by Berthold Hirter in the 53rd minute. Hamilton Martinelli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vitus Geuken made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gereon Ramseier in the 63rd minute of play. If Gereon Ramseier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 68 minutes, Hamilton Martinelli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Villigen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hamilton Martinelli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gereon Ramseier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vitus Geuken having to interfere. Hamilton Martinelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vitus Geuken having to interfere. Vitus Geuken made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gereon Ramseier in the 91st minute of play. There was no doubt that Villigen were the better team. Villigen's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
