Blumenstein's Isidor Hagenbuch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lawrence Lischer in the 20th minute of play. Tarek Spiller fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefano Reufer having to interfere. Cedric De Maria's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stefano Reufer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. If Lawrence Lischer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leopoldo Marfurt during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Pier Donders might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Isidor Hagenbuch. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Blumenstein had played much better football throughout.
