Knurzel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Scherliau the free kick. After a rather tough play, Knurzel's Frye Devaud got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Marvin Wyss's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ron Buttliger read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Ron Buttliger was out of position in the 9 minute of play, and Albin Dolder capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Albin Dolder really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Albin Dolder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 14 minutes into the game, Ilian Sennrich was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Knurzel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Scherliau the free kick. Ilian Sennrich hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Ron Buttliger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albin Dolder in the 19th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Clement Setz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Knurzel's supporters rose to their feet, but Clement Setz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giorgio Rothenberger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marvin Wyss recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Scherliau's Albin Dolder got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Rachid Wasser sped through Scherliau's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Giorgio Rothenberger. Knurzel's Clement Setz got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Albin Dolder was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Clement Setz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Giorgio Rothenberger was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. Rachid Wasser sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Giorgio Rothenberger came out of the goal and Rachid Wasser tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Marvin Wyss managed to get in a good position for a shot. Scherliau's supporters rose to their feet, but Marvin Wyss was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ron Buttliger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
