Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Monte Brè's Levi Gräf started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Olympio Helmholz came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Monte Brè fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olympio Helmholz couldn't finish the play. Augustin Graf stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Levi Gräf's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. Fabian Gisler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joe Jost in the 11th minute of play. If Malte Schilling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Grengiols HC's Augustin Graf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Levi Gräf in the 15th minute of play. Fabian Gisler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joe Jost in the 17th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Malte Schilling in the 20th minute of play forced Monte Brè's goalkeeper Fabian Gisler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Grengiols HC's goalkeeper Augustin Graf, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Monte Brè booed when Grengiols HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fréderic Meier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Grengiols HC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Levi Gräf 27 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. In the 30th minute, Monte Brè's Levi Gräf dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Augustin Graf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Levi Gräf in the 35th minute of play. Irwin Graziani hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. After having played for 38 minutes, Olympio Helmholz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monte Brè's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olympio Helmholz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joe Jost was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Grengiols HC booed when Monte Brè was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clint Gassmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Joe Jost had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Herve Stadler during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Irwin Graziani kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Levi Gräf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Augustin Graf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rdth minute of the game Joe Jost who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Monte Brè's Fabian Gisler was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Olympio Helmholz struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Augustin Graf didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Monte Brè. An unexpectedly hard shot by Levi Gräf in the 88th minute of play forced Grengiols HC's goalkeeper Augustin Graf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Levi Gräf managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monte Brè's supporters rose to their feet, but Levi Gräf was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Augustin Graf breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 91st minute, Patrice Tanguay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Herve Stadler was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 93 minutes had been played. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 92nd minute of the game. One of Monte Brè:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Grengiols HC:s goal. Huber Lipp shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Grengiols HC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
