Igor Nager was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Stefan Jurt showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 8 minute of play. 10 minutes in the game, Francisco Rausis fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Igor Nager having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, Francisco Rausis notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of fertig's Igor Nager. Igor Nager was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 15 minutes, Lajos Bianco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sheffield United and the fertig players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sheffield United's Lajos Bianco got a free kick in the 15th minute. Baptiste Courtemanche fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Smith having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Stefan Jurt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sheffield United's supporters rose to their feet, but Stefan Jurt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Igor Nager breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Francisco Rausis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 30 minutes into the match, Jacques Baumgartner had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tommy Smith. Sheffield United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jacques Baumgartner was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Stefan Jurt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of fertig booed when Sheffield United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lajos Bianco didn't get a good kick on the ball. When fertig's Jacques Baumgartner in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sheffield United's goalie prevented a goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 63rd minute, Francisco Rausis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stefan Jurt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Igor Nager read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Michel Struver kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Sheffield United's Stefan Jurt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Igor Nager narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Stefan Jurt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Michel Struver was shown his second yellow card after 78 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 98th minute of the match Sheffield United got a corner. fertig's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Marc Smith ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Sheffield United's Marc Smith to fire away a dangerous shot which Igor Nager despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Sheffield United's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
