Brian Nager sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of FC Sion booed when Ennetegg FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romano Fassbinder didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 31 minutes, Aurelius Koller managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Sion's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aurelius Koller was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sven Ambauen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aurelius Koller received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Randolf Aceto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Sven Ambauen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romano Fassbinder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. FC Sion's Joel Steinemann proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save FC Sion from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven Ambauen in the 58th minute of play forced Ennetegg FC's goalkeeper Randolf Aceto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Brian Nager came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Ennetegg FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brian Nager couldn't finish the play. Randolf Aceto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aurelius Koller, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Sion's Sven Ambauen got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Brian Nager fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Steinemann having to interfere. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Sion's goalkeeper Joel Steinemann, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Joel Steinemann came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Ennetegg FC's Romano Fassbinder. But to his dismay, Romano Fassbinder quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Randolf Aceto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven Ambauen in the 92nd minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, FC Sion's goal looked a bit too open when Brian Nager came free, but Joel Steinemann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Ennetegg FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ennetegg FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
