Sauveur Busch made the kick off and thus started the match. After 2 played minutes Atlético San Fernando got a freekick which was hit by Piet Vendembia. 4 minutes into the match, Atlético San Fernando's goal looked a bit too open when Pitt Conte came free, but Fabien Tenaglia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 4th minute Pitt Conte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabien Tenaglia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Silverius Wehrli struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Fabien Tenaglia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester City 2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rolando Rusterholz in the 10th minute of play forced Manchester City 2's goalkeeper Lorenz Zettel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peter Tosi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lorenz Zettel having to interfere. In the 19th minute Silverius Wehrli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabien Tenaglia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manchester City 2's Silverius Wehrli managed to work through Atlético San Fernando's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Silverius Wehrli dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Manchester City 2's Lorenz Zettel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Manchester City 2 from getting a goal against them. Klaas Karlen made in the 30th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Irvin Bregenzer. After having played for 33 minutes, Ted Paulin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético San Fernando's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ted Paulin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The throw-in from Silvio Borgi in the 37th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Manchester City 2's Andreas Forcucci. The supporters of Manchester City 2 booed when Atlético San Fernando was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Irvin Bregenzer didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After having played for 57 minutes, Rolando Rusterholz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético San Fernando's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rolando Rusterholz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Manchester City 2's goalkeeper Lorenz Zettel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 87th minute Rolando Rusterholz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lorenz Zettel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 91st minute of the match, Sauveur Busch tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Fabien Tenaglia saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.
