After 9 minutes, Chris Balmer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Füchse FC and the Manchester City 2 players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Manchester City 2 booed when Füchse FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chris Balmer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manchester City 2's Sauveur Busch got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Chris Beckenbauer scored 0-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lorenz Zettel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 27 played minutes Füchse FC got a freekick which was hit by Remo Schwegler. After a rather tough play, Manchester City 2's Timofej Bühler got a free kick in the 30th minute. Lorenz Zettel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oskar Ritter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manchester City 2's attentive Silverius Wehrli managed to snatch the ball when Kasimir Bugnon made a throw-in in the 33rd minute of the game. 35 minutes into the game, Manchester City 2's Ruiz Tittone nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ernst Ottenin-Girard made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Lorenz Zettel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kuno Ostermann, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sauveur Busch was the one to do the kick off. Gerrit Aebli kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oskar Ritter in the 53rd minute of play forced Manchester City 2's goalkeeper Lorenz Zettel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andreas Forcucci tried in the game's 54th match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy Lorenz Zettel. The Füchse FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ernst Ottenin-Girard should have stopped the shot. Manchester City 2's defense didn't have a chance, in the 72nd minute, when Chris Balmer scored to the left of an out of position Lorenz Zettel, making the score, 2-3. Lorenz Zettel made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Chris Beckenbauer sent off a good shot on target. Manchester City 2's defense didn't have a chance, in the 79th minute, when Oskar Ritter scored to the left of an out of position Lorenz Zettel, making the score, 2-4. Ruiz Tittone struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Ernst Ottenin-Girard didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester City 2. If Sauveur Busch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
