The audience thought a goal was coming when Silvestro Parolini got free with Rasul Gräf in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rasul Gräf was out of position in the 5 minute of play, and Chris Herger capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Chris Herger really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. When Carol Pascolo fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Yverdon's protests and gave Carol Pascolo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 9th match minute, Yverdon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carol Pascolo to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Sorens's Robin Schwab got a free kick in the 11th minute. Rasul Gräf was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Muhammad Kefacha showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 18 minute of play. After 22 minutes, Muhammad Kefacha made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Yverdon's Rasul Gräf tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Chris Herger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Rasul Gräf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sorens's Muhammad Kefacha was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 31st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Muhammad Kefacha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Rasul Gräf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Muhammad Kefacha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rasul Gräf stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Muhammad Kefacha's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Irenäus Beyer to make the kick off. When the match clock showed 53 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Muhammad Kefacha sped through Yverdon's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rasul Gräf. When Sorens's Muhammad Kefacha in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Yverdon's goalie prevented a goal. Gian Amstad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rasul Gräf having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Muhammad Kefacha in the 80th minute of play forced Yverdon's goalkeeper Rasul Gräf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Domenico Ruckstuhl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kevin Baumberger's late challenge caught a Sorens's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kevin Baumberger helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Yverdon's Kevin Baumberger got a free kick in the 85th minute. A collision led to Yverdon getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Carol Pascolo hit a great ball. 91 minutes into the match, Yverdon's goal looked a bit too open when Muhammad Kefacha came free, but Rasul Gräf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rasul Gräf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvestro Parolini in the 92nd minute of play. Rasul Gräf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Muhammad Kefacha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
