Remi Mader stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hercules Dommen's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Celestino Drescher managed to get in a good position for a shot. AS Rapperswil-Jona's supporters rose to their feet, but Celestino Drescher was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Remi Mader breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Remi Mader made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celestino Drescher in the 6th minute of play. Lütmerken's Remi Mader played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celestino Drescher in the 8th minute of play. Giuseppe Langelier's late challenge caught a AS Rapperswil-Jona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Remi Mader was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Celestino Drescher kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Anthony Mader could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Gerd Laforge made a huge save. If Celestino Drescher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Remi Mader showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celestino Drescher, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Hercules Dommen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Remi Mader read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Remi Mader showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hercules Dommen in the 38th minute of the match. Celestino Drescher blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Remi Mader having to make a save. Hercules Dommen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Remi Mader tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anthony Mader was the one to do the kick off. When Celestino Drescher came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the AS Rapperswil-Jona fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celestino Drescher couldn't finish the play. Hercules Dommen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Remo Jerzinger fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AS Rapperswil-Jona's protests and gave Remo Jerzinger a yellow card for diving instead. In the 59th minute, Remo Jerzinger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Anthony Mader's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gerd Laforge was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Remi Mader was out of position in the 61 minute of play, and Hercules Dommen capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Hercules Dommen really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. If Hercules Dommen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 72 minutes into the match, Lütmerken's goal looked a bit too open when Hercules Dommen came free, but Remi Mader reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 74 played minutes AS Rapperswil-Jona got a freekick which was hit by Aurelius Amberg. With a little luck, Lütmerken's Remi Mader got control of the ball when Hercules Dommen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Remi Mader made an important save on a dangerous shot by Celestino Drescher in the 77th minute. After a rather tough play, Lütmerken's Marco Bohm got a free kick in the 79th minute. Claudio Rohr hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Celestino Drescher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remi Mader having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Maxime Kunze kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Remi Mader. That made the score 0-3 in the 87 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karim Meier in the 92nd minute of play forced AS Rapperswil-Jona's goalkeeper Gerd Laforge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Lütmerken fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. AS Rapperswil-Jona were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
