It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Marlo Peavler kicked off to start the match. Lars Berardi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marlo Peavler in the 4th minute of play. In the 8th minute, Winterthur's Marlo Peavler ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lars Berardi. Lars Berardi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Lars Berardi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stefan Unternährer, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. A collision led to Winterthur getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Marlo Peavler hit a great ball. In the 17th minute, Winterthur's Allan Perktold ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lars Berardi. Lars Berardi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. After 20 minutes, Christy Ammon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Böttstein FC and the Winterthur players grew even worse after the yellow card. Christy Ammon hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the match, Winterthur's goal looked a bit too open when Thimotheus Roth came free, but Eugen Uliassi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lars Berardi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cian Bourdette in the 26th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Böttstein FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marlo Peavler came free, but Lars Berardi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 32 played minutes Winterthur got a freekick which was hit by Joao Lemmenmeier. Mathias Reck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugen Uliassi having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Marlo Peavler took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Lars Berardi to make any attempt to save it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Christy Ammon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lars Berardi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marlo Peavler in the 54th minute of play. Cecil Wegmüllers short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Eugen Uliassi to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Lars Berardi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lukas Striednig, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Lars Berardi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marlo Peavler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd minute Winterthur were awarded a corner. Matteo Schultheiss went to the cornerflag to take it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cian Bourdette during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as Böttstein FC's Thimotheus Roth slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eugen Uliassi. That made the score 4-1 after 67 minutes of play. In the 73rd minute, Marlo Peavler left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Winterthur fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. Lars Berardi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lukas Striednig, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 78th match minute, Winterthur was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stefan Unternährer to maneuver through the defense. Lukas Striednig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dawson Wagner hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. If Marlo Peavler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Böttstein FC's Christy Ammon pulled a muscle in his back after 91 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 91 minutes into the game, Jonas Muff was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Winterthur's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Böttstein FC the free kick. In the 94th minute Mathias Reck managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Winterthur fans cheered their team off the field, for while Böttstein FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
