Yvan Cicchetti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Josua Petroni in the 9th minute of the match. Cuba Libre Basel's Alfonso De Grandis got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Josua Petroni scored 0-2 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Yvan Cicchetti, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Josua Petroni in the 33rd minute of play forced Cuba Libre Basel's goalkeeper Yvan Cicchetti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stefan Kobel took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Yvan Cicchetti. Yvan Cicchetti dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Alonzo Vermudo kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. 44 minutes into the match, Cuba Libre Basel's goal looked a bit too open when Josua Petroni came free, but Yvan Cicchetti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Cuba Libre Basel players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Stella were winning 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Josua Petroni to strike the kick off in the second half. Cedric Rüdemann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfonso De Grandis in the 53rd minute of the match. After having played for 56 minutes, Denis Furcas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stella's supporters crossed their fingers, but Denis Furcas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 60 minutes into the match, Cuba Libre Basel's goalkeeper Yvan Cicchetti had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Josua Petroni. With a little luck, Cuba Libre Basel's Yvan Cicchetti got control of the ball when Josua Petroni tried to sneak it across the goal line. 63 minutes in the game Alan Carosello got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. Yvan Cicchetti made an important save on a dangerous shot by Josua Petroni in the 65th minute. After 65 played minutes Cuba Libre Basel got a freekick which was hit by Reiner Seitz. If Stefan Kobel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Cuba Libre Basel's Bairee McGlenn in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Stella's goalie prevented a goal. Moreta Ribas hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After 84 played minutes Stella got a freekick which was hit by Denis Furcas. In the 88th minute of the match, Josua Petroni got a very nice opportunity to score, but Yvan Cicchetti was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Yvan Cicchetti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denis Furcas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Stella's Stefan Kobel slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Yvan Cicchetti. That made the score 0-5 after 90 minutes of play. When the match was over Stella could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cuba Libre Basel throughout the match.
