Bruno Schurter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, FC Volketswil's Gregor Scheidegger got a free kick in the 4th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Denis Schott in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Serge Frei prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to FC Volketswil getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Daniele Roy hit a great ball. When FC Sarajevo SG's Denis Schott, in the 7th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for FC Sarajevo SG. Fabrizio Saluz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serge Frei having to interfere. In the 10th minute Denis Schott shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serge Frei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Bruno Schurter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of FC Sarajevo SG booed when FC Volketswil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gregor Scheidegger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Christy Ulrich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Serge Frei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Denis Schott had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Denis Schott in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Serge Frei saved FC Volketswil from getting behind. In the 35th match minute, FC Volketswil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduard Gschwind to maneuver through the defense. Jens Zingg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Serge Frei having to make a save. When Denis Schott came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the FC Sarajevo SG fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Denis Schott couldn't finish the play. Denis Schott struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Serge Frei didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Sarajevo SG. 46 minutes into the game, Christy Ulrich cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Serge Frei was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Denis Schott to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, FC Volketswil's goalkeeper Serge Frei had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Samuel Fischer. Serge Frei stood somewhat misplaced when Denis Schott came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 53 minute. In the 58th minute Jaromir Fuchs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomas Müller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Müller came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Volketswil's Salvatore Ruano. But to his dismay, Salvatore Ruano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. The supporters of FC Volketswil booed when FC Sarajevo SG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yann Stempfel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Salvatore Ruano in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tomas Müller prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Serge Frei stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Denis Schott's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Denis Schott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
