Codrin Aldescu's late challenge caught a SL Benfica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Flemming Cavegn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricky Kaelin in the 11th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andre Despland in the 12th minute of play forced SL Benfica's goalkeeper Alwin Dubler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 14 minutes into the game, SL Benfica's Ricky Kaelin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Flemming Cavegn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 17 minutes into the match, Gucci United's goal looked a bit too open when Raffaele Conti came free, but Flemming Cavegn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gucci United's Flemming Cavegn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raffaele Conti in the 19th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Gucci United's goal looked a bit too open when Harry Spiess came free, but Flemming Cavegn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22ndth minute of the game Andre Despland who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SL Benfica's Alwin Dubler was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alwin Dubler had great luck who in the 27thth minute grab hold of the ball when Andre Despland from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Alwin Dubler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Codrin Aldescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ricky Kaelin in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Flemming Cavegn saved Gucci United from getting behind. Lukasz Drzewucki kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After the first half SL Benfica were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ricky Kaelin was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 58 minutes, Harry Spiess managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SL Benfica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Harry Spiess was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Gucci United getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Fidelis Greub hit a great ball. The supporters of Gucci United booed when SL Benfica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fergus Wolf didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alwin Dubler didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andre Despland went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Harry Spiess recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 72ndth minute of the game Andre Despland who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SL Benfica's Alwin Dubler was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alwin Dubler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andre Despland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alwin Dubler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andre Despland in the 76th minute of play. The supporters of Gucci United booed when SL Benfica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Hofmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bernardo Flores sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Lucas Steinmann fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gucci United's protests and gave Lucas Steinmann a yellow card for diving instead.
