The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A sloppy throw-in by Fabiano Jenny in the 10th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Suruç's Elijah Gloeckner. Elijah Gloeckner charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Elijah Gloeckner the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 14th match minute, Suruç was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elijah Gloeckner to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Red-Skorpion's zone, Maximilien Siedler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Michael Theiler came out of the goal and Maximilien Siedler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Red-Skorpion's Michael Theiler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julius Willimann in the 19th minute of play. Dominique Lischer hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Suruç's Nils Rast got control of the ball when Niels Witschi tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 27th match minute, Red-Skorpion was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuele Tosi to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th minute of the match Cyril Lüpold shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Michael Theiler showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Red-Skorpion's zone, Maximilien Siedler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Michael Theiler came out of the goal and Maximilien Siedler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Timoteo Bouchard kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Red-Skorpion's Marcel Fenstermacher got a free kick in the 36th minute. After some careless play in the Red-Skorpion defense, Maximilien Siedler kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Michael Theiler. The Red-Skorpion fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Michael Theiler should have stopped the shot. When Maximilien Siedler fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Suruç's protests and gave Maximilien Siedler a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Suruç getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Maximilien Siedler hit a great ball. Nils Rast made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Marcel Fenstermacher sent off a good shot on target. Jordano Laberge hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maximilien Siedler to make the kick off. In the 60th minute Julius Willimann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michael Theiler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julius Willimann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Michael Theiler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Suruç getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Nikolaus Bianco hit a great ball. 69 minutes into the game, Red-Skorpion's Niels Witschi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nils Rast made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maximilien Siedler got free with Michael Theiler in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 83rd minute of the match, Maximilien Siedler got a very nice opportunity to score, but Michael Theiler was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Michael Theiler was a little too slow when Julius Willimann got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 84th minute. The score was now 1-4. Michael Theiler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dominique Lischer, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. 96 minutes into the match, Red-Skorpion's goal looked a bit too open when Julius Willimann came free, but Michael Theiler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over Suruç could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Red-Skorpion throughout the match.
