Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Quentin Amstad started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When Douglas Garnier fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Basel's protests and gave Douglas Garnier a yellow card for diving instead. Douglas Garnier kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Quentin Amstad's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Servatius Böni was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. The ZION AC fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when ZION AC's Gabriel Meier looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 18th minute there was a penalty for ZION AC. Remy Despland stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Servatius Böni. 0-2. Karim Krauer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. ZION AC's Ur Sal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save ZION AC from getting a goal against them. Ur Sal was out of position in the 24 minute of play, and Karim Krauer capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Karim Krauer really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. In the 28thth minute of the game Quentin Amstad who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Basel's Servatius Böni was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 31 minutes into the match, ZION AC's goalkeeper Ur Sal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Karim Krauer. Gabriel Meier scored 1-3 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Servatius Böni, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jud Zubriggen hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Servatius Böni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel Meier in the 42nd minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Karim Krauer to strike the kick off in the second half. Xaver Affentranger hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Gabriel Meier took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Servatius Böni to make any attempt to save it. Quentin Amstads short, quick shot in the 66thth minute got Servatius Böni to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Servatius Böni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Meier, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Quentin Amstad who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 78thth minute tested the skills of Servatius Böni when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Karim Krauer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Ur Sal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Karim Krauer struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Ur Sal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Basel. ZION AC's Nathaniel Gloeckner got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. ZION AC's Gabriel Meier was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 89th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. FC Basel's Servatius Böni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Meier in the 94th minute of play. In the 97th minute, FC Basel's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gabriel Meier fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The ZION AC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing ZION AC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
