Oskar Brandenberger scored 0-2 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Silvester Bürgi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Beatus Schmitt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Khalid Gottschalk having to interfere. In the 42nd minute Luca Saenger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvester Bürgi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ciro Cavallaro kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Silvester Bürgi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luca Saenger went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Gyula Gere's late challenge caught a Hemmersbacher SV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
