But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claudio Baum couldn't finish the play. In the 13th minute, Sven-Arne Bengtsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bernard Cimini was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 17th minute Edmílson Gaúcho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernard Cimini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Edmílson Gaúcho put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Bernard Cimini. Garfield Cotti charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Garfield Cotti the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 23rd minute, Garfield Cotti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bernard Cimini didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edmílson Gaúcho went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Odysseus Lindenmann made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Claudio Baum sent off a good shot on target. 39 minutes into the game, Edmílson Gaúcho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Bernard Cimini was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Edmílson Gaúcho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bernard Cimini was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. A collision led to Lionel hay uno solo getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Bob Hagenbuch hit a great ball. In the 48th minute Edmílson Gaúcho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernard Cimini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Fire Devils were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmílson Gaúcho made a kick off. Bernard Cimini came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Fire Devils's Edmílson Gaúcho. But to his dismay, Edmílson Gaúcho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Bernard Cimini didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sven-Arne Bengtsson went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. Lionel hay uno solo made a substitution. Gerard Heinzmann replaced Claudio Baum. Iosif Vornic might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bernard Cimini. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Iosif Vornic ran back to his position shaking his head. Bernard Cimini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Arne Bengtsson in the 66th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Garson Pfäffli got free with Bernard Cimini in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Edmílson Gaúcho put it in 0-7 from a short distance just to the right of Bernard Cimini. Bernard Cimini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmílson Gaúcho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 72 minutes into the game, Sven-Arne Bengtsson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-8. Bernard Cimini was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lionel hay uno solo's Bernard Cimini proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Lionel hay uno solo from getting a goal against them. Edmílson Gaúcho's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 76thth minute, Bernard Cimini skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 78th minute, Fire Devils's Sven-Arne Bengtsson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-9. Iosif Vornic was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 80th minute. Fire Devils's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 81 minutes into the match, Edmílson Gaúcho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bernard Cimini. Lionel hay uno solo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edmílson Gaúcho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-10. Garson Pfäffli kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Odysseus Lindenmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duong Gruenenfelder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bernard Cimini made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Edmílson Gaúcho sent off a good shot on target. Fire Devils's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
