Nathaniel Howald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Gregor Kobel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Espen Steelers getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Williams Imholz hit a great ball. A hard shot 9 in the game by Alain Berset from a close distance when the talented Stig Verlengia managed to make a qualified save. Liver Bird's players were relieved. The audience thought a goal was coming when Williams Imholz got free with Stig Verlengia in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 18 minutes into the match, Espen Steelers's goal looked a bit too open when Clinton Werfel came free, but Gregor Kobel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 20 played minutes Espen Steelers got a freekick which was hit by Sauveur Ehrlichmann. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Liver Bird's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Williams Imholz was slow to take the kick. During this time Espen Steelers's players had a chance to rest. Alain Berset sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Liver Bird's Stig Verlengia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alain Berset in the 29th minute of play. Gregor Kobel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timoteo Kuhn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Liver Bird's zone, Stan Wawrinka stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stig Verlengia came out of the goal and Stan Wawrinka tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Espen Steelers's Alain Berset in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Liver Bird's goalie prevented a goal. After 38 minutes, Jacques La Rosa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Liver Bird and the Espen Steelers players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jacques La Rosa hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Williams Imholz hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 42nd minute of the match Nathaniel Howald shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gregor Kobel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Pat Eggers made the kick off in the second half. Alain Berset recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Espen Steelers's Sauveur Ehrlichmann got a free kick in the 54th minute. In the 54th match minute, Espen Steelers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sauveur Ehrlichmann to maneuver through the defense. Stig Verlengia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stan Wawrinka in the 57th minute of play. In the 60th minute Alain Berset shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stig Verlengia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st minute Pat Eggers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregor Kobel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 64th minute Stan Wawrinka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stig Verlengia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gregor Kobel was a little too slow when Clinton Werfel got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 69th minute. The score was now 0-1. Liver Bird's Raffaele Mutach was substituted for Alfred Parolini. Espen Steelers's Rogelio Montez was substituted for Alain Berset. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Liver Bird's Pat Eggers in the 74th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Gregor Kobel was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Espen Steelers through an amazing save. Stig Verlengia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stan Wawrinka in the 78th minute of play. Liver Bird's Stig Verlengia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stan Wawrinka in the 82nd minute of play. When Espen Steelers's Rogelio Montez in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
