In the 11th minute of the match Brütten got a corner. FC Wil 1900's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alexander Bettinelli ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Brütten's corner Alexander Bettinelli fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lionel Paly quite easily take care of the ball. Pirmin Jäggi made a great header on FC Wil 1900's corner, it was just that Brütten's Yan Fossati managed to reach the ball for a save. Lionel Paly showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Zbytniewski, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Brütten's Yan Fossati played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emery Heller in the 19th minute of play. Téo Rosa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Yan Fossati having to make a save. Brütten's Yan Fossati played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Téo Rosa in the 43rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Brütten defense, Téo Rosa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yan Fossati. The Brütten fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yan Fossati should have stopped the shot. After the first half FC Wil 1900 were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pirmin Jäggi to make the kick off. Through an outstanding action, after 50 minutes, Yan Fossati successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Yan Fossati made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Emery Heller sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice moves Tory Pryor could shoot a difficult shot in the 54th minute, which Yan Fossati however easily saved by the left post. In the 59th minute of the match, Pirmin Jäggi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Yan Fossati saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After having played for 62 minutes, Edward Zbytniewski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brütten's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edward Zbytniewski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yan Fossati showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emery Heller in the 63rd minute of the match. Lionel Paly showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Hofstetter, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. After a rather tough play, FC Wil 1900's Georges Gladu got a free kick in the 67th minute. FC Wil 1900 made a substitution. Alex Leisibach replaced Tory Pryor. Brütten were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after FC Wil 1900's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Alexander Bettinelli took the corner. The supporters of FC Wil 1900 booed when Brütten was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clark Högger didn't get a good kick on the ball. 92 minutes into the match, FC Wil 1900's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Hofstetter came free, but Lionel Paly reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 94 minutes into the game, Brütten's Alberto Hofstetter nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lionel Paly made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. FC Wil 1900 were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
