Spectators: 10896 (Terracing: 8173, Seating: 2506, VIP seats: 217) Tory Pryor made the kick off and thus started the match. 3 minutes into the match, FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lionel Paly had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alain Berset. When FC Wil 1900's Tory Pryor in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Espen Steelers's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Espen Steelers getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Williams Imholz hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in FC Wil 1900's zone, Alain Berset stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lionel Paly came out of the goal and Alain Berset tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ivan Dové might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gregor Kobel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ivan Dové ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, FC Wil 1900's Lionel Paly got control of the ball when Alain Berset tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in FC Wil 1900's zone, Alain Berset stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lionel Paly came out of the goal and Alain Berset tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lionel Paly was out of position in the 30 minute of play, and Alain Berset capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alain Berset really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. After 34 played minutes Alain Berset rounded FC Wil 1900's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-0. Gregor Kobel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emery Heller in the 37th minute of play. After 39th play minutes Tory Pryor shot 3-1, a short shot which went by Gregor Kobel and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 44th minute Georges Gladu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregor Kobel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gregor Kobel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tory Pryor, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stan Wawrinka stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lionel Paly, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pirmin Jäggi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Gregor Kobel made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alain Berset in the 56th minute of play forced FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lionel Paly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Espen Steelers fans' excitement grew in the 59th match minute when Espen Steelers's Alain Berset looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. FC Wil 1900's Sobah Rico was substituted for Bernhard Zollinger. Lionel Paly came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Espen Steelers's Alain Berset. But to his dismay, Alain Berset quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Espen Steelers's Rogelio Montez was substituted for Alain Berset. Espen Steelers's Giancarlo Weissmuller was substituted for Roman Beljean. Lionel Paly showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stan Wawrinka, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Stan Wawrinka scored 6-1 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lionel Paly, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Pirmin Jäggi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Gregor Kobel made a huge save. After 88 played minutes FC Wil 1900 got a freekick which was hit by Pirmin Jäggi. Lionel Paly made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogelio Montez in the 88th minute of play. Lionel Paly stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rogelio Montez's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. Espen Steelers's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
