In the 9th minute of the match Freek Gevaert sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Yannik Van Riel skillfully saved the ball. Yannik Van Riel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bartjan Van Nel, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. In the 15th minute, Jarne Cools left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Eeklo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 20th minute of the match Luk Vincke sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Yannik Van Riel skillfully saved the ball. If Mickael De Roest had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yannik Van Riel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bartjan Van Nel's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. In the 28th match minute, Eeklo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Knockaert to maneuver through the defense. After 30 played minutes Eeklo got a freekick which was hit by Frits Debock. 36 minutes into the match, Eeklo's goal looked a bit too open when Mickael De Roest came free, but Yannik Van Riel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Bartjan Van Nel put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Yannik Van Riel. Guillaume Van Bouschot could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Pierre Van Eyke made a huge save. When Eeklo's Jarne Cools in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Saint-Denis's goalie prevented a goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jarne Cools stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Jarne Cools cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Pierre Van Eyke was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Saint-Denis's Bartjan Van Nel got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Saint-Denis getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Sylvan Van Hespen hit a great ball. Jarne Cools received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Pierre Van Eyke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pierre Van Eyke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jarne Cools, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eeklo's Yannik Van Riel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bartjan Van Nel in the 70th minute of play. If Jarne Cools had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Guillaume Van Bouschot put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Pierre Van Eyke. Pierre Van Eyke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jarne Cools in the 81st minute of the match. Mickael De Roest's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Yannik Van Riel firmly grabbed it by the left post. 86 minutes into the match, Saint-Denis's goal looked a bit too open when Jarne Cools came free, but Pierre Van Eyke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jarne Cools blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pierre Van Eyke having to make a save. Bartjan Van Nel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yannik Van Riel having to interfere. Eeklo were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Saint-Denis for a fine match.
