Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 6 minutes, Pierrot Laporte managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Racing Belboys's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pierrot Laporte was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Raf Van Laeck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, Raf Van Laeck got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sammy Van Cruchten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leo Robijns having to interfere. When Raf Van Laeck came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Racing Belboys fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raf Van Laeck couldn't finish the play. Ronald Camps recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gert Van Meerbeek in the 27th minute of play forced RSC Marckebeek's goalkeeper Leo Robijns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leo Robijns made an important save on a dangerous shot by Raf Van Laeck in the 28th minute. The audience was convinced that Pierrot Laporte's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leo Robijns was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Joannes Schellekens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Raf Van Laeck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pierrot Laporte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jef De Wit made a kick off. RSC Marckebeek's Leo Robijns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raf Van Laeck in the 55th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronald Camps in the 59th minute of play forced RSC Marckebeek's goalkeeper Leo Robijns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yves Raedemaeckers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andrez Huts in the 67th minute. When Joannes Schellekens fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RSC Marckebeek's protests and gave Joannes Schellekens a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, RSC Marckebeek's Joannes Schellekens got a free kick in the 69th minute. When Sammy Van Cruchten came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Racing Belboys fans jumped to their feet. Leo Robijns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raf Van Laeck in the 86th minute of play. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind RSC Marckebeek's goalkeeper Leo Robijns, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sammy Van Cruchten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leo Robijns having to interfere. If Ronald Camps had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 94 minutes into the match, Racing Belboys's Pierrot Laporte sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leo Robijns narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 95th minute, Gert Van Meerbeek got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 96 played minutes RSC Marckebeek got a freekick which was hit by Tony Bouman. Racing Belboys walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
