Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) After a defensive mix-up in Aalter's zone, Stefaan Moreau stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Michael Loosen came out of the goal and Stefaan Moreau tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Willem-Alexander Petris fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Loosen having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bartjan Izemborgh during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Aalter's Bartjan Izemborgh got a free kick in the 9th minute. Bartjan Izemborgh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 16 played minutes FLASH09 got a freekick which was hit by Yanis Tael. Bartjan Izemborgh recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Yanis Tael hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Aalter's Bertrand Hunaerts couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 20th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for FLASH09. Silvain Demarrez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ray Toeback having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Bartjan Izemborgh took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Ray Toeback to make any attempt to save it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bartjan Izemborgh in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ray Toeback saved FLASH09 from getting behind. Bartjan Izemborgh struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Ray Toeback didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aalter. Ray Toeback was out of position in the 36 minute of play, and Hubert Impens capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Hubert Impens really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bartjan Izemborgh stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Jorn Vergouwen managed to get in a good position for a shot. FLASH09's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorn Vergouwen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michael Loosen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Aalter's Bartjan Izemborgh in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FLASH09's goalie prevented a goal. Ray Toeback took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartjan Izemborgh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bartjan Izemborgh struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Ray Toeback didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aalter. The supporters of Aalter booed when FLASH09 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marten Van Eyken didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64thth minute of the game Bartjan Izemborgh who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FLASH09's Ray Toeback was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 66 played minutes FLASH09 got a freekick which was hit by Jorn Vergouwen. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Silvain Demarrez in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ray Toeback prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 80th minute, Willem-Alexander Petris left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FLASH09 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. When Bartjan Izemborgh came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Aalter fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bartjan Izemborgh couldn't finish the play. 91 minutes into the match, Silvain Demarrez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ray Toeback. FLASH09's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Silvain Demarrez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Aalter's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
