After a defensive mix-up in SC Beyne-Heusay's zone, Isidoor Rijmenams stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kenneth Uytebroeck didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Haneffe. After 33 minutes, Ludo Kerkhofs mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Beyne-Heusay and the Haneffe players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Haneffe booed when SC Beyne-Heusay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ludo Kerkhofs didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Rolf Koens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 39 minutes of play, Haneffe's Rolf Koens made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kenneth Uytebroeck was left in no man's land by his defense there! 44 minutes into the match, SC Beyne-Heusay's goal looked a bit too open when Rolf Koens came free, but Kenneth Uytebroeck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Kurt Vervaet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Romain De Pauw stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Kurt Vervaet came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Haneffe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kurt Vervaet couldn't finish the play. Haneffe's attentive Rolf Koens managed to snatch the ball when Janes De Boeck made a throw-in in the 55th minute of the game. Kurt Vervaet scored 0-2 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kenneth Uytebroeck, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rolf Koens's late challenge caught a SC Beyne-Heusay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kenneth Uytebroeck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kurt Vervaet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rolf Koens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kenneth Uytebroeck having to interfere. Romain De Pauw struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Robrecht Claessens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Beyne-Heusay. In the 96th minute, Rolf Koens made a precise shot to the right of Kenneth Uytebroeck. SC Beyne-Heusay's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. The SC Beyne-Heusay fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Haneffe were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
