The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Niewerkerken's Arthur Van den Driesch got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Heusy's Charles-Louis Abrams proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Heusy from getting a goal against them. In the 7th minute, Lars Van Goitsenhoven ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cedric Van Leemputte was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. When Artur D'haene fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Niewerkerken's protests and gave Artur D'haene a yellow card for diving instead. After 10 played minutes Niewerkerken got a freekick which was hit by Artur D'haene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maxim Knoops in the 15th minute of play forced Niewerkerken's goalkeeper Cedric Van Leemputte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernard Rondas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Cedric Van Leemputte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Lars Van Goitsenhoven got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Theo Tombuer struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Cedric Van Leemputte didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Heusy. Charles-Louis Abrams showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arthur Van den Driesch in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Theo Tombuer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute, Jorden Caers fired a really elegant long shot, but Charles-Louis Abrams threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 25th minute of the game. One of Heusy:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Niewerkerken:s goal. Charles-Louis Abrams took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olivier Teunis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the game, Heusy's Lars Van Goitsenhoven nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cedric Van Leemputte made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Theo Tombuer kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. In the 38th minute of the match, Arthur Van den Driesch tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Charles-Louis Abrams saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Artur D'haene came free with the goalkeeper in the 41st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Charles-Louis Abrams could save by the left post. Cedric Van Leemputte came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Heusy's Maxim Knoops. But to his dismay, Maxim Knoops quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. After some careless play in the Heusy defense, Artur D'haene kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Charles-Louis Abrams. The Heusy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Charles-Louis Abrams should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-3 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bernard Rondas to strike the kick off in the second half. Charles-Louis Abrams showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arthur Van den Driesch, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Heusy's Maxim Knoops got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jorden Van Acker's late challenge caught a Heusy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorden Van Acker helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Niewerkerken's Jorden Van Acker got a free kick in the 55th minute. Arthur Van den Driesch hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Cedric Van Leemputte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernard Rondas, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Lars Van Goitsenhoven charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lars Van Goitsenhoven the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 64th match minute, Heusy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lars Van Goitsenhoven to maneuver through the defense. Niewerkerken's Cedric Van Leemputte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maxim Knoops in the 66th minute of play. Bernard Rondas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cedric Van Leemputte having to make a save. When Maxim Knoops came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Heusy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maxim Knoops couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Artur D'haene in the 78th minute of play forced Heusy's goalkeeper Charles-Louis Abrams to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Heusy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernard Rondas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Charles-Louis Abrams made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artur D'haene in the 91st minute of play. After 92 minutes of play Niewerkerken's Jorden Van Acker was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 93 played minutes Niewerkerken got a freekick which was hit by Jorden Van Acker.
