An unexpectedly hard shot by Davy De Greef in the 27th minute of play forced Engelbeek's goalkeeper Theo Van Hooveldt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Davy De Greef received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Theo Van Hooveldt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jason Verduin in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Theo Van Hooveldt saved Engelbeek from getting behind. Hannes Verhulst fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Demets having to interfere. When Hannes Verhulst came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Engelbeek fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hannes Verhulst couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Erez getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Franky Van Gysel hit a great ball. If Hannes Verhulst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Hannes Verhulst kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Michael Demets. That made the score 1-0 in the 46 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Davy De Greef to strike the kick off in the second half. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Engelbeek reached it. If Hubert Schautens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erwin Degens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Theo Van Hooveldt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Sylvan Van Craesbeeck fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Engelbeek's protests and gave Sylvan Van Craesbeeck a yellow card for diving instead. In the 89th minute, Sylvan Van Craesbeeck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Erwin Degens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
