When Dries Cantillon fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KFC Herdersem's protests and gave Dries Cantillon a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to KFC Herdersem getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Dries Cantillon hit a great ball. Rolf De Maerschalck hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Dries Cantillon got his second yellow card in the match during the 20th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Dries Cantillon hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Robert Van Der Eyde's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eddy Verhaghe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Harald Le Lion received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Eddy Verhaghe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to RSC Boutersem getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Terry Tubbackx hit a great ball. Eddy Verhaghe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lukas Clement, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Guido Van Hoovelt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rolf De Maerschalck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filip Pietrowicz having to interfere. The supporters of RSC Boutersem booed when KFC Herdersem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bengt Olsmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Rudy Boede had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eddy Verhaghe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robert Van Der Eyde in the 59th minute of the match. KFC Herdersem were furious when Joerie Uijtterhoven was red carded, 68 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 68th minute, one of KFC Herdersem:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for KFC Herdersem. Filip Pietrowicz went to the wrong direction when Maurice Van Latem was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Filip Pietrowicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guido Van Hoovelt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rudy Boede came free in the 77th minute and tried to tip the ball over Eddy Verhaghe, but to the joy of RSC Boutersem's supporters the ball went over. With a little luck, KFC Herdersem's Filip Pietrowicz got control of the ball when Rolf De Maerschalck tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the last second Filip Pietrowicz throw himself and got hold of the ball when Guido Van Hoovelt in the 86thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind RSC Boutersem's goalkeeper Eddy Verhaghe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. There was no doubt that KFC Herdersem were the better team. KFC Herdersem's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
