Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Henri-Patrick Boemans got the match started through his kick off. Victor Staes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the Diepenbeek defense, Ramon Klopterop kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tomm Weets. The Diepenbeek fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomm Weets should have stopped the shot. 12 minutes into the game, Gust Van Deinze was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Diepenbeek's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KFC Ruette the free kick. 17 minutes into the match, KFC Ruette's goal looked a bit too open when Henri-Patrick Boemans came free, but Binjamin Stoorms reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomm Weets took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adolphe Sabbe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ramon Klopterop took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tomm Weets. Tomm Weets dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Diepenbeek's Tomm Weets played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolphe Sabbe in the 32nd minute of play. Tomm Weets showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remie den Pelsmaeker in the 35th minute of the match. Gust Van Deinze received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Binjamin Stoorms tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dan Van Parijs lost his temper 38 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 38 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Diepenbeek! The referee gave KFC Ruette a penalty, 41 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Albertus Van den Sande, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Diepenbeek's Tomm Weets. 0-4. In the 44th minute, Diepenbeek's Gust Van Deinze dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ramon Klopterop was the one to do the kick off. Tomm Weets made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Robrecht Gillekens sent off a good shot on target. In the 56th match minute, Diepenbeek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roger Deville to maneuver through the defense. Diepenbeek's Tomm Weets played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramon Klopterop in the 57th minute of play. Gust Van Deinze scored 2-4 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Binjamin Stoorms, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 65th match minute, KFC Ruette was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sander Goons to maneuver through the defense. After 69 minutes of play, KFC Ruette's Adolphe Sabbe made it 2-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tomm Weets was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Diepenbeek getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Jos Herremans hit a great ball. When Ramon Klopterop came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the KFC Ruette fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ramon Klopterop couldn't finish the play. Diepenbeek's Gust Van Deinze got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jorne Schamp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Binjamin Stoorms tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 93rd minute Ramon Klopterop shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomm Weets saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. KFC Ruette walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
