After a rather tough play, FC Blaty's Jorg Adams got a free kick in the 5th minute. 10 minutes into the game, FC Blaty's Achilles Louckx nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edward Verduin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 14 minutes into the match, Moortebeek's Lode Valckeneers sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fred Van Gestel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fred Van Gestel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benjamin Clement in the 17th minute. FC Blaty's Jorg Adams got his second yellow card of the match in the 20th minute. The referee ordered Jorg Adams off the ground. In the 21st minute, Jorg Adams hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Lode Valckeneers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute, Moortebeek's Tommy Rijniers dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. FC Blaty's Fred Van Gestel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save FC Blaty from getting a goal against them. Achilles Louckx sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With his leg Fred Van Gestel managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when Moortebeek's Benjamin Clement fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Lode Valckeneers might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fred Van Gestel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lode Valckeneers ran back to his position shaking his head. Benjamin Clement sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lode Valckeneers to make the kick off. Fred Van Gestel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamin Clement in the 54th minute of the match. Benjamin Clement sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the FC Blaty defense, Lode Valckeneers kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fred Van Gestel. The FC Blaty fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fred Van Gestel should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin Clement in the 67th minute of play forced FC Blaty's goalkeeper Fred Van Gestel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Wayne Van Bets managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Blaty's supporters rose to their feet, but Wayne Van Bets was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edward Verduin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 75 played minutes FC Blaty got a freekick which was hit by Wayne Van Bets. In the 84th minute, Benjamin Clement left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Moortebeek fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. With 93 minutes on the clock, Nick Schoovaerts commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 92nd minute, one of FC Blaty:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Blaty. When Moortebeek's Lode Valckeneers, in the 98th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Moortebeek.
