Vicente Van den Driesch breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Passendale booed when Lubbeek was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cederique Opdebeeck didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Lubbeek's zone, Rik Maenhout stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vicente Van den Driesch came out of the goal and Rik Maenhout tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Niels Helssens managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bobby Van Der Linden breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 18 minutes into the game, Rik Maenhout cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Vicente Van den Driesch was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Niels Helssens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bobby Van Der Linden having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Lubbeek's zone, Rik Maenhout stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vicente Van den Driesch came out of the goal and Rik Maenhout tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vicente Van den Driesch made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wesly Van Menen in the 30th minute. If Niels Helssens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 42 minutes, Niels Helssens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lubbeek's supporters crossed their fingers, but Niels Helssens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Terry Devaux scored 1-1 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bobby Van Der Linden, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Niels Helssens to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Rik Maenhout ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vicente Van den Driesch was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Rik Maenhout received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Vicente Van den Driesch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Niels Helssens in the 72ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bobby Van Der Linden, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Vicente Van den Driesch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergio Pauwels in the 75th minute of play. If Rik Maenhout had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bobby Van Der Linden made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Niels Helssens sent off a good shot on target. Vicente Van den Driesch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rik Maenhout in the 83rd minute of play. Vicente Van den Driesch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rik Maenhout, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
