Alan Schol was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Puttenen's Bart Schepmans got a free kick in the 11th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as KSV Purnode's Simon Ceulemans slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Harald Sloeve. That made the score 1-1 after 22 minutes of play. KSV Purnode's Simon Ceulemans got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 37thth minute of the game Jorn Beets who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KSV Purnode's Alan Schol was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jorn Beets fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alan Schol having to interfere. In the 45th minute Jorn Beets shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alan Schol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jorn Beets's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alan Schol read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jorn Beets to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, KSV Purnode's Godfried Van Lint got a free kick in the 51st minute. Jorn Beets received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Alan Schol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Octaaf Baboeuf in the 63rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Alan Schol, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 63rd match minute, KSV Purnode was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bastiaan De Hoef to maneuver through the defense. After 64 minutes, Sem Meersman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KSV Purnode and the Puttenen players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 64 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for KSV Purnode! Adam Roelandts placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Octaaf Baboeuf was extremely unlucky when he, in the 68th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. If Jorn Beets had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Harald Sloeve took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simon Ceulemans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th minute Jorn Beets shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alan Schol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Octaaf Baboeuf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute, Octaaf Baboeuf left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Puttenen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. 95 minutes into the match, Simon Ceulemans notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Puttenen's Harald Sloeve. Harald Sloeve was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Despite being the better team, Puttenen failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
