Luke Vervaeck was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 27th minute, Lorenz Petermans ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luke Vervaeck was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Armand Tubbackx during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Carel Coche came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by VK Valaarhof's Jan-Simon Van Goolen. But to his dismay, Jan-Simon Van Goolen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 36th minute Cederique Van den Hond shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luke Vervaeck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sam Portmans hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. A collision led to Battice getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Jan-Joost Van den Paenhuysen hit a great ball. 44 minutes into the match, VK Valaarhof's Jerome Van Mellart sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carel Coche narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Carel Coche didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 45th minute, which inside left pole to 2-2. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cederique Van den Hond stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Battice walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
